The Technology
What is eFoiling?
eFoiling uses an electric-powered hydrofoil board that lifts smoothly above the water as you gain speed. Unlike traditional surfing or wakeboarding, there are no waves, ropes, or noisy engines involved.
No waves. No ropes. No loud engines.
Just smooth, silent flight above the beautiful Noosa River. Using a simple handheld controller, riders quickly learn how to glide, carve, and fly with surprisingly little effort.
Here at eFoil Noosa, we believe the future of adventure tourism should be exciting without impacting the environment around us.

FAQ’S
Everything You Need to Know about eFoiling in Noosa
No experience needed at all. One of our recent riders was Fiona, who came in to celebrate her 60th birthday well outside her comfort zone, zero water sports background. She was up, foiling, and grinning within her first lesson. She now tells everyone she meets how amazing it is and that anyone can do it. That pretty much sums it up.
The lesson runs for 1.5 hours. That includes a 15-minute safety briefing at the start after that, the rest of the time is in the water with real-time coaching alongside you. We use a proven progression: you start on your belly, work up to your knees, then get to
your feet. It’s a structured method and it works 95% of riders foil in their first session.
If you feel yourself going, let go of the trigger and fall away from the board. Your instructor is right there to talk you through it. The boards also have automatic tilt detection built in if the board tips past a certain angle, the motor cuts out on its own. So even if you’re still holding the trigger on the way down, the power is already off before you hit the water. Most riders find that really reassuring once they understand how it works.
Most people find that once they’ve had their first fall, it’s nowhere near as bad as they’d built it up to be. It actually works as a bit of an icebreaker after that, riders tend to move with a lot more confidence. Helmets and life jackets are provided and worn every session.
Just a towel and some sunscreen. Everything else is provided, the board, helmet, and life jacket. Wetsuits are available complimentary when the water temperature calls for it. We also have lockers on site for valuables, so you’re not leaving your gear unattended.
You only need to be moving at around 17-22 km/h to lift onto the foil. Slower than most people expect. For beginners, the boards can be speed-limited by the instructor. So you’re not getting handed full throttle on your first go it’s dialled in to where it makes sense for your level.
You do need to be confident in the water. You don’t need to be a lap swimmer, but comfortable — yes. The good news is that your instructor is with you at all times, life jackets are worn every session, and the board itself is very buoyant the moment you stop moving.
Beginners ride on the Noosa River, not the open ocean. It’s calm, flat water, which makes a big difference.
During the lesson itself, no your phone and camera stay on shore. Your focus needs to be on what you’re doing out there. Instructors sometimes take a GoPro out on the water if you’d like footage from your session, just mention it when you book or when you arrive. And there’s always an opportunity for some post-foil celebration shots once you’re back on dry land.
If conditions aren’t suitable on the day, we’ll be in touch to find a time that works better for you. Being on the Noosa River means we’re sheltered from most wind and chop, so we can get out on the water in conditions that would rule out a lot of other water activities. We run sessions daily and cancellations are rare.
Minimum age is 14. There’s no upper age limit we’ve had riders well into their 60s and 70s having a great time. Weight does factor into which board setup makes sense, but it doesn’t stop you from riding. Your instructor will sort the right setup on the day. If you have any particular needs or questions before booking, just give us a call happy to talk it through.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by your instructor and introduced to your setup. Before anything happens on the water, we run a thorough 15-minute safety briefing — how the board works, how to use the remote, and what to do if you fall. Then you’re in. You start on your belly, get comfortable with the feel of the board moving through the water, then work up to your knees, and eventually to your feet. There’s no rush — your instructor is in the water with you, giving you real-time feedback and encouragement the whole way.
For most people, the moment they first lift off the water is something they don’t forget. The grin tends to say it all. Sessions run daily. Have a look at availability online or give us a call — we’re always happy to have a chat before you book.
We’re at 172 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, right on the Noosa River, next to the famous Big Pelican. Hard to miss. The building is our Fliteboard showroom and experience centre — it’s where we sell and service boards, and where all our lessons run from. If you’re walking along the riverfront, you’ll find us.
About 10 minutes from Hastings Street. Close enough that you can do a session and still make lunch on the strip.
If you’re staying in Noosa Heads, it’s an easy trip. Most people drive, but there are a few other ways to get here if you’d rather leave the car behind.
A few options. If you’re driving, plug 172 Gympie Terrace into your GPS and you’ll land right out front.
The Noosa Ferry departs from Hastings Street and runs along the river to Noosaville — easy and genuinely a great way to arrive. The 626 bus also makes the run from Noosa Heads, and Uber is readily available from most parts of Noosa.
Plenty of free parking within a short walk of us. It’s one of the nice things about being in Noosaville rather than Hastings Street — you’re not circling the block for 20 minutes before your session.
Year-round. Noosa has great weather and the river is protected, so there’s no real off-season for us.
Summer is warm and the days are long. Winter is mild and the water stays comfortable. Whenever you’re in Noosa, it’s a good time to come.
Plenty. The Noosaville riverfront has picnic areas, BBQ facilities, and sheltered spots right along the water — it’s a great place to make a morning or afternoon of it. There are also swimming spots nearby if you want to keep the kids entertained before or after. The river foreshore is relaxed and easy, which is part of what makes this area worth the trip.
